The Hoe Neighbourhood Plan will:

Your questions answered

A little clarity goes a long way. Explore the answers to questions about the Plan and the referendum.

The Plan seeks to conserve the Hoe's historic character, including listed buildings, conservation areas and locally important heritage assets.

Policies H1 and H3 provide guidance on how development should respond to historic buildings, streetscapes and the area's maritime identity.

The Plan supplements existing heritage protections rather than replacing them.

Policy HS1 addresses housing mix, accessibility and environmental standards, with the aim of supporting a balanced local community.

The Plan also recognises concerns about short-term holiday lets, second homes and their possible effects on permanent residential communities.

It proposes monitoring these issues and working with relevant partners. However, it does not itself introduce a ban on holiday lets or new licensing arrangements.

I care about how my neighbourhood will develop and change in the coming years. It's important that local people have a say in what those changes are. I'm voting YES on this referendum.

The Hoe is a unique and special place for people, heritage, history and for nature.  It takes an urban village to nurture it for everyone and everything.  In times of huge change and uncertainty, our neighbourhood can speak with a louder, stronger voice if we vote Yes for the Hoe Neighbourhood Plan.
